A rare old specimen of Opal from the Cervenica area in Slovakia. The specimen has several areas showing precious Opal, largely purple with some green blue neon colours, set in a milky Opal in a sandy coloured matrix. An old label on the specimen would appear to indicate that the specimen was purchased in February 4th 1877 for £1.10 shillings, from a still older collection.
