A particularly lustrous light orange Opal from the West Carclaze China Clay Pit (closed in 1980) some 3kms north of St. Austell, Cornwall. Areas on the specimen are translucent to opaque, with white Opal and black Opal areas. The orange Opal is faintly lined by successive tramlines of denser orange colour. A hand written label has the date of 11-2-79, (probably 1979).
