A great Pegmatite specimen of Orthoclase crystals with Quartz, from An Yang, South Korea. The Orthoclase crystals show excellent form standing in high relife from the inter-grown crystal matrix. The Othoclase crystals measuring to 1.7cm have well defined Monoclinic habit. The crystals also display a white secondary formation of Orthoclase as a thin band restricted to the prism faces. The white band of Orthoclase is seen to have also grown above the parent crystals forming a low parapet . The  main crystals have a creamy colouration, with a tint of pink on some faces. A single crystal of light Smoky Quartz lays at an angle of 45degs from one edge of the specimen. The smoky crystal measuring to 4.8cm tall, and is largely gemmy. The Quartz crystal has several micro-inclusions of dark green Chlorite. We seldom see specimens from the Korean Peninsula.
