Paragonite With Kyanite and Staurolite

A specimen of Paragonite from the type locatity on Sponda Alp-Pizzo Forno, Switzerland. The Paragonite is seen as a silvery white micaceous foileated mineral on a granitic gneiss rock. Crystal and sections of glassy red-brown Staurolite are partly embraced in the Paragonite measuring to 3cm. There are also crystals and sections of light blue Kyanite, some of the crystals are quite gemmy, measuring to nearly 3cm. The specimen comes with an Academy of Philadelphia label from the William S. Vaux Collection.
