Parkinsonite in Mendipite

ID: CC6271

A very rare specimen of Parkinsonite from Torr Works Quarry (Merehead Quarry), Somerset. Red 1mm areas of the Lead Molybdenum Oxychloride are to be seen on both sides of the enclosing columnar cleavage of colourless-white Mendipite, associated with grey-black Mn Oxide and white Calcite. Specimens from this unusual deposit are unlikely to be seen again (the specimen is probably from Vein No1)
