Plumboan Aragonite 'Tarnowitzite'

ID: CC1615

A large specimen of Plumboan Aragonite variety  'Tarnowitzite' from the Zelidja Mine, Morocco. The Plumboan Aragonite forms an oblong plate of white terminated crystals to 2cm long, with light beige prism faces and a greasy lustre. The crystals when viewed down the 'C' axis are seen to be cyclically twinned. Examples from this mine are on a par with Tarnowitzite from the Tsumeb mine, Namibia.
