A large spectacular specimen of the uncommon Silver Sulfosalt Polybasite with Quartz, from the Chipas Mine, Sonora, Mexico. Crystals of metallic dark grey openly crystallized Polybasite, in characteristic hexagonal platy habit measuring to around 1.5cm. Colourless to slightly amethystine coloured crystals of Quartz are in association. Crystals of Polybasite do show bruising, possibly due to extraction from a larger mass of Polybasite. Still a very rich specimen.
