Pyrostilpnite is a rare Silver Antimony Sulphide. The specimen we have to offer comes from the old mining area of St. Andreasberg, Germany. The Pyrostilpnite forms richly intergrown metallic grey-black micro-crystals. They have grown on and are partly enclosed by colourless intergrown barrel-like crystals of Calcite. Associated with these two minerals are rare orange platy hexagonal micro-crystals of possible Xanthoconite, and the odd prismatic micro-crystal of Pyrargyrite. A great small cabinet specimen to study.
