Quartz Var Amethyst

ID: CC2537

Two rabbit ears of Amethyst gives this specimen an out of the ordinary appeal. The Amethyst crystals measure to 1.8cm, pleasingly perched on the edges of a light sandy coloured matrix. The Amethysts are lustrous and translucent to gemmy, with light to deep purple colour. They are doubly terminated, and occur as single crystals or clusters. An intriguing Amethyst specimen, the label notes that it came from the West Shore of Lake Balkhash, Kazakhstan.
