The Argentiere Glacier area of Mont Blanc has produced many high quality Smoky Quartz clusters over the years. This specimen is a really attractive group of Smoky crystals - all glassy and clear with great lustre to the surfaces. The main crystal is typically flattened and shows defined striations. When held against a bright light there is a prominent white Faden thread passing through the center of this crystal. The remaining crystals which make up this aesthetic cluster are randomly orientated and have modifications indicating their left or right hand orientation. Beautiful example.
