Specimens from the Bere Alston Mines are not common. The specimen we have displays well formed crystals of prismatic Quartz measuring to 1.5cm tall. Crystals of Quartz are in a somewhat divergent arrangement in two connected groups, having milky white prisms with translucent to gemmy colourless pyramidal terminations. Spherical formations of creamy Dolomite is seen leading from the top of the specimen to clustered around the edge of the specimen,having a pearly lustre. Areas of micro Pyrite crystals are also in association on the specimen with rare Chalcopyrite crystals.
