A splendid rich pinkish red specimen of Rhodochrosite from the celebrated N'Chwaning Mines, South Africa. The Rhodochrosite specimen has interlocking rhombic crystals forming a low relief botryoidal display face. The attractive translucent deep pinkish-red colour is accompanied by a pleasant, slightly chatoyant luster. The black Mn Oxide matrix is probably Pyrolusite judging from the somewhat radial-platy and botryoidal appearance. A delightful specimen of Rhodochrosite from the location.
