A relatively large Rutile crystal for the location, that stands proud at an angle from a white Quartz matrix. The Crystal of Rutile measures to 3.3cm. It is lustrous deep dark maroon red, with a well developed termination, and partly enveloped by the Quartz matrix. A specimen of Rutile from the Herzogberg area in Modriach, Austria.
