A very rare mineral from a location that is renowned for many rare species, at the Tsumeb Mine, Namibia. The very rare mineral Sahamalite a (Mg,Fe)(Ce,La,Nd) Carbonate (confirmed by RAMAN at the ROM) is seen as a creamy yellow covering on Malachite pseudomorphs after Azurite. Pastel green crystallites of a Calcium enriched Gartrellite (confirmed by EDS) is seen formed between the Malachite and the Sahamalite. A rich specimen for a species new to the Tsumeb Mine.
