A superb Scorodite specimen from our 2006 mining operations at Hemerdon Ball Mine, with very large Scorodite crystals. A large cavity is exposed in the milky Quartz matrix which continues from front to back of the specimen, revealing a lining of Scorodite crystals, Iron oxides and minor Wolframite. The Scorodite forms a large central cluster of translucent blue, well formed crystals measuring to 8mm in length. They have good lustre, and some have a partial staining of red Iron oxides. Smaller Scorodite crystals continue through the rest of the cavity, and have more pinkish red Iron Oxides staining and coatings. In daylight the Scorodite becomes a very attractive sea green colour. Displays well, an impressive Scorodite.
