A quality specimen of stacked crystals of Siderite overgrown on Faden Quartz. The Siderite crystals are highly lustrous on all the faces, forming individual flattened rhombic crystals measuring to 2cm. The colour of the Siderite is a light brown - the thin edges of the crystals are translucent and display a definite phantom within the crystals. Strangely the Siderite crystals start off as pearl white sharp rhombic crystals to 0.6cm at the central base of the specimen. Flattened Quartz crystals displaying the Faden habit have grown in two spines on which the Siderites rest. The Quartz crystals are gemmy with a central 'thread' of translucent white. Interesting growth forms for both species.
