There are two mines in Cornwall that are noted for specimens of Siderite in our opinion, one is Carn Brea the other is Tincroft. Both mines on the same run of lodes between Redruth and Camborne. This neat specimen we have is from the old Tincroft Mine (the mine probably dating back to the 16th century at least). Excellently developed rich lustrous brown crystals of Siderite measuring to 5mm, have formed over a dome of pyramidal Quartz crystals. A smart specimen from the mine.
