A most interesting specimen consisting of Smithsonite crystals forming a botryoidal layer of prismatic crystals blending from yellow/green close to the sulphide matrix to a Cobaltoan Smithsonite pink coloured surface. Shades of both colours are apparent on the surface due to the translucency of the crystals, creating a gorgeous effect that changes as you turn the specimen. The colour combination reminds me of the bi-coloured Vesuvianite from Jeffrey Mine, Quebec. The form of the piece is excellent with individual curving prism faces to 4mm across, and aesthetic nodular crystal cluster growths. Combined with the attractive colour, this is quite a piece!
