A fascinating formation of Smithsonite from the Pit No.9, Touissit, Morocco. The Smithsonite is seen as a cavernous formation of sparkling stalactitic rods spanning across the specimen, which have developed around Goethite rods. The Stalactites measuring to nearly 3cm tall, by 0.7cm diameter. The Smithsonite is lustrous translucent with a satisfying olive green colour. The underside of the specimen also has a drusy covering of olive to light brown Smithsonite. A Goethite stalactite cavity at the back of the specimen has two or three scattered crystals of Cerussite measuring to 3mm. A fascinating specimen of Smithsonite from Morocco.
