A tremendous specimen of Smithsonite from the celebrated Tsumeb mine, Namibia. The specimen is thickly adorned with sharply formed steeply rhombic crystals measuring to 0.7cm tall. The spiky crystals are arranged in radial clusters, formed on a predominantly Chalcocite matrix. The Smithsonites are a lustrous translucent white, with some crystal on or near the Chalcocite appearing grey due to inclusions of this mineral. A very fine specimen of Smithsonite from this classic location. The specimen was once in Academy of Philadelphia collection.
