Smithsonite and Mimetite

ID: CC4265

A rich specimen of botryoidal Smithsonite with crystals of Mimetite from the well regarded location of the Tsumeb Mine, Namibia. Lustrous crystals of gemmy to translucent prismatic light brown Mimetite, measuring to 1cm are clustered and scattered over the pastel yellow-green Smithsonite. A later generation of white drusey spiky crystals of Smithsonite has formed on the Mimetite and botryoidal Smithsonite. On the reverse of the specimen are areas of bright green 'Conichalcite' on a grey-black matrix. A great specimen of Smithsonite/Mimetite from the Tsumeb.
