A fine specimen of Sphalerite from the recent find in Shuikoushan, China. The Sphalerite forms a multitude of intergrown and single crystals with a rounded appearance and many highly reflective crystal faces. The gemmy crystals are orange-brown to deep brown with internal hearts of fire, seen through the silvery faces of adamantine to slightly greasy lustre. Many of the Sphalerite crystals are partly coated by a casing of icing sugar white Quartz. Sparkling drusy colourless Quartz has grown on a thin rind of reddish 'Jasper' forming the matrix. The underside of the specimen shows cast impressions of a pre-existing mineral. A great specimen of Sphalerite with a real glow, a mineral destined to become a classic from China.
