Sphalerite

ID: CC465
A fantastic display specimen of gemmy translucent yellow to darker opaque well formed octahedral crystals of Sphalerite. The crystals have a metallic to resinous lustre, and exhibit stepped triangular growth detail on the crystal faces. The Sphalerite crystals sit in a bed of small prismatic Quartz crystals on a brecciated matrix. A great example of this mineral, rare in this quality from this locality.
