Excellent lustrous black crystals of complex Sphalerite crystals measuring to 1cm are liberally scattered and clustered over a druse of biscuit coloured Ankerite. The specimen is from the North Pennines, once a major mining area centred on Nenthead. The Ankerite has formed over a typical Limestone matrix.
