Sphalerite With Quartz, Dolomite and Chalcopyrite

ID: CC3136

An uncommon British specimen, we very seldom see specimens from the Isle of Man. The specimen we have displays two intergrown crystals of deep brown lustrous Sphalerite measuring to 6.6cm. Micro-crystals of metallic brassy yellow Chalcopyrite are scattered and clustered over the Sphalerite crystal faces. Colourless to white stubby crystals of Quartz form an intergrown crest on the specimen. A later deposition of creamy rhombic translucent Dolomite crystals measuring to 0.7cm have formed on the Quartz. A pleasing specimen from this uncommon location.
