One of the Tsumeb Mine's great rarities is Stottite - very few specimens were found in the mine's working life, and we do not know of any other worldwide location where it is found. This specimen has a major crystal measuring to 4.75mm, with a smaller crystal to 2mm in attendance to one side. The two crystals are lustrous and have the characteristic yellow to brown colouration. Stottite was never found in large crystal size at the mine, only up to about 1cm, so this is a relatively large crystal for the species. The Stottite sits in a shallow cavity lined by Fe-oxides on a Sulphide/Quartz matrix with a glassy area yellowish Cerussite. A smashing specimen of the very rare Iron Germanium Hydroxide species.
