Strengite

ID: CC2301

Many vugs are richly adorned with crystals of the Iron Phosphate Strengite from the Vohenstrauss area in Germany, an area mineralogically associated with secondary Phosphate minerals. This specimen displays a number of cavities developed in a hard Iron-Manganiferous/Quartz matrix. The cavities, with the largest measuring 3 x 2cm, are completely lined with intergrown well formed crystals of purple-pink Strengite. The Strengite crystals individually measure to 0.5cm and are largely gemmy. A sparkling and rich specimen with excellent pedigree including a Wards label!
