A large cabinet specimen of Tetrahedrite crystals from the Clausthal-Zellerfeld area in Germany. Crystals of Tetrahedrite display classic crystal habit, and measure to an appreciable 2.1cm on edge. A thin layer of metallic brassy yellow chalcopyrite covers most of the Tetrahedrite crystals (very reminiscent of classic Herodsfoot Mine specimens). Associated with the Tetrahedrite are cubo-octahedral crystals of metallic grey Galena measuring to 0.7cm. Both minerals have formed on a druse of crystalline tan coloured Siderite, with isolated areas of white translucent Dolomite micro-crystals. A great specimen from the mining area.
