A rare Tetrahedrite for the location, from the East Crinnis Mine, St. Austell, Cornwall. Specimens of Tetrahedrite from this mine very seldom see the light of day. The specimen we have has a number of Tetrahderite crystals measuring to 1.4cm, with a mid-grey metallic luster. Crystals of Tetrahedrite have formed on a matrix of pyramidal colourless to white Quartz crystals. The specimen comes with two historical labels, one from the British Museum (Natural History) stating on the back that the specimen is from the Allan-Greg Collection, acquired in 1860. The other label is a Richard Barstow white collection label.
