A fine old time specimen of Vanadinite on Phosphohedyphane from the Belton Grain Vein, Wanlockhead, Scotland. The vein which crosses Wanlock Dod hill was a major vein worked for many years in the 19th century. It became known for producing excellent crystal specimens of Vanadinite. The specimen we have has many hexagonal tabular to rounded crystals of Vanadinite scattered and clustered over the white to grey Phosphohedyphane. The crystals of Vanadinite are lustrous translucent yellowish to light brown measuring to 4mm. A fine specimen of an uncommon Wanlockhead specimen.
