Variscite on Albite
ID: CC831
Variscite is a relatively rare mineral and this specimen is from the 2006 Boa Vista pegmatite find in Brazil. Vugs are richly covered with bright red Variscite, which contrasts with the white Albite matrix. The crystals are spheroidal measuring to 2mm, blood red in colour and exhibit eye catching vitreous lustre. A great example of the species!
