Variscite on Albite

ID: CC833

Variscite is a relatively rare mineral, particularly with red colour, and this specimen is from the 2006 Boa Vista pegmatite find. An area of comb-like Albite measuring 30 x 25mm is almost completely encrusted with Variscite that is spheroidal to 1mm, bright pink in colour and exhibits sparkling luster. An excellent display specimen for the species!
