Willemite With Wulfenite

ID: CC1543

A great sparkly Willemite with Wulfenite specimen from the Tsumeb Mine, Namibia. The Willemite forms a rich intergrown druse of tiny hexagonal crystals, with a central yellow Cadmium rich core overgrown by a colourless gemmy outer zone. There are four distinctive crystal of Wulfenite to 0.7cm on edge in attendance with the Willemite. The main Wulfenite crystal displays the pyramid faces to advantage, and they are all a translucent orange-brown with a fair luster. The specimen also possess gemmy prismatic crystals of yellow Mimetite in small clusters, and translucent white crystals of Calcite to 0.9cm. On the underside of the specimen is a druse of Willemite crystals largely overgrown by minute crystals of secondary Quartz. Fragmented Dolomite breccia cemented by Quartz forms the matrix. A fine mix of species from the Tsumeb Mine.
