Classic crystal of Witherite from one of the north of England's best locations for the mineral, the Fallowfield Mine, Hexham. The Witherite crystal measuring to 3cm displays well defined pyramid faces with development of a small pinacoid termination, a part formed crystal can be seen to one side. A druse of pyramidal colourless to iron stained Alstonite crystals forms a matrix upon which the Witherite crystals have formed. A neat Witherite specimen from the mine. The specimen also comes with a George L. English & Co of New York label dating to around 1895.
