A classic specimen of the famous Red Cloud Mine Wulfenite. The specimen consists of a group of lovely deep orange-red tabular tetragonal crystals to 2.8cm. The major 001 faces have very bright vitreous luster typical of Wulfenite from the Red Cloud Mine. The main display crystals is actually two crystals forming a contact twin. Tiny bright orange prismatic micro-crystals of Vanadinite coat areas of the black to red-brown matrix. The mine is one of the few mines in the world which was actively mined for mineral specimens. Red Cloud Mine takes a rightfully deserved place in the annals of mineralogical history. The specimen displays to advantage on its stand. Minor damage on the rear of the specimen as reflected in the price, but not seen from the display side.
