Zaratite After Millerite

ID: CC5576

A small number of Millerite specimens have been collected underground at the Brownley Hill Mine, Nenthead, Cumbria. Very few of these were found altered to the nickel Carbonate Zaratite. A specimen we have displays a fan-like array of brassy acicular Millerite crystals partly replaced by green Zaratite, embedded in a Calcite matrix. The handwritten label states that the specimen came from High Cross Vein near Waltons Rise.
