A fine cabinet specimen of intergrown, thick-set Baryte crystals, mostly gemmy pastel greenish-blue to translucent and selectively included by a thin zone of reddish Hematite. The Baryte crystals measure up to 4.5 cm and 1.2 cm thick, and display some degree of parallel development with typical chisel terminations as well as a more open crystal form on a creamy, brecciated Dolomite. A splendid Baryte from the west Cumbrian iron ore field. The specific mine has not been recorded with this specimen, as was often the case, so it is best not to speculate.
