A lovely rich Cassiterite is from the St. Agnes mining district on the north coast of Cornwall, England. The St. Agnes granite is a small satellite stock emanating from the Carnmenellis granite pluton to the south. The St. Agnes mines are famous for well crystallised Cassiterite and Fluorite. This miniature is a solid mass of tin ore, charcoal grey in colour and exhibiting several vugs richly encrusted with lustrous Cassiterite crystals. A rich and showy example from this classic Cornish mining district.
