This small miniature of intermeshed gemmy Fluorite crystals is from West Pasture mine, close to the town of Stanhope in Weardale, County Durham.; a mine famous for its distinctive apple-green Fluorite. This specimen does indeed represent this delightful colour, but also has the bonus of random light lime-green zones within the remarkably transparent crystals. The Fluorite group covers a matrix core of mixed creamy limestone and rusty-orange iron-rich altered limestone. A splendid miniature example of well crystallised Fluorite from West Pasture mine with cubic crystals of up to 1.2 cm on edge.
