The Magma mine at Superior in Pinal County, Arizona, worked a polymetallic ore body from 1875 to 1909, producing 57 different mineral species. This small miniature Baryte is a beautiful example from the mine and is composed of intergrown lozenge-shaped crystals to 2.5 cm of dark chocolate-brown with highly lustrous faces and razor-sharp edges. This large thumbnail specimen is mounted vertically on a small square acrylic base.
