A series of small Feldspar quarries near Lauvland in Evje og Hornnes, Agder, southern Norway have, in the past, produced some superb crystals of rare-earth bearing species, particularly Monazite-(Ce). This lovely miniature from the superb systematic collection assembled by brothers Martin and Michael Günther (1951-2007 & 1956-2021) features a wonderful, and large (2 x 1.2 cm), dark clove-brown tabular to bladed Monazite-(Ce) crystal perched upon Feldspar. It is recorded as from Skavdalen which is a sub-locality linked to one of the individual numbered quarries and probably dates to the 1970s.
