SPECIMEN DESCRIPTION

Gudmundite is a very rare iron antimony sulphide - a member of the Arsenopyrite Group of minerals. Named after the locality in Sweden where it was first discovered the number of localities worldwide where good crystals have been found are very small and Uranium mine No. 19 in the Příbram District, Bohemia, Czech Republic heads that list. The best crystallized specimens from Uranium mine No. 19 were found in 1983. Miniature in size, this superbly crystallized specimen from the magnificent systematic collection assembled by brothers Martin and Michael Günther (1951-2007 & 1956-2021) is extremely rich in silvery-grey Gudmundite crystals with Quartz and probably Galena too.
