ROSCOELITE with CALCITE and QUARTZ

SPECIMEN DESCRIPTION

This fine small cabinet specimen of Calcite on Quartz is enhanced by the presence of the very rare vanadium mica - Roscoelite. Upon it, the Roscoelite forms small black rosetted aggregates upon the bed of Quartz crystals. The large Calcite crystal, which looks to be twinned, rises up above the Quartz base. It is from the superb systematic collection assembled by the brothers Martin and Michael Günther (1951-2007 & 1956-2021).
