SPECIMEN DESCRIPTION

From the fine systematic collection of brothers Martin and Michael Günther (1951-2007 & 1956-2021) comes this thumbnail specimen of the very rare calcium zirconium silicate species Gittinsite from the Type Locality - Kipawa alkaline complex, Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Québec, Canada. Gittinsite is the chalky white phase, surrounded by vibrant pink Eudialyte of the finest colour. The area of Gittinsite is approximately 4 mm x 3 mm.
