This beautiful, emerald-cut faceted Fluorite is from Frazer's Hush mine, close to the village of Rookhope in Weardale, County Durham, England. Frazer's Hush is much better known for its magnificent purple Fluorite, yet green examples did occur from time to time. This square-cut stone is completely gemmy while displaying several internal gossamer-like veils around its periphery and with a nett weight of 9.4 carats (1.88 grams). The stone's full face measures 12 x 11 mm. This will make a splendid addition to any Weardale Fluorite display because facetted stone help demonstrate the remarkable range in colour and clarity of Fluorite throughout this classic mining district.
