A fine crystal of Fluorapatite is perched on a tan coloured Siderite-encrusted Muscovite matrix from the Panasqueira Mines in Portugal. A single, lustrous, sharply formed Fluorapatite crystal measures to 2.1 cm across the pinacoid face and 1.3 cm long (deep) and is mostly translucent with gemmy areas. The crystal has a central purple-blue zone with tinted green outer zones parallel to the pinacoid faces. Platy intergrown Muscovite crystals are overgrown by a later deposition of drusy tan coloured Siderite. A fine Fluorapatite from the classic Panasqueira mines at Covilhã.
