This interesting German Pyromorphite specimen is not from any of the classic localities, but is from Gottesehre mine, near St. Blasien in the Black Forest, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Miniature to large miniature in size, it forms a relatively solid Pyromorphite crust, the upper surface of which consists of a finely crystallized botryoidal layer varying in colour from a mid-green to beige and yellow. The crust is formed of several 'layers' and there appears to be colour-zoning to a certain degree between the individual layers - paler beneath to darker on top. Interesting material.
