Veszelyite, a rare copper- double zinc phosphate hydrate, is a much sort after mineral species by collectors. Veszelyite has been known for many years to occur at the Sanguozhuang Pb-Zn mine at Sanguozhuang in southern-central China, but in 2023 a superb new discovery was made, from which this specimen originates. Vivid inky blue blades and tiny rosettes of Veszelyite richly coat a crust of white Hemimorphite, making for a stunning, good-sized cabinet specimen, measuring 11.4 cm wide. Sanguozhuang is in the Dongchuan District of Kunming refecture in Yunnan Province. This recent find has taken the market by storm, having recently been on sale at the 2024 Tucson Show!
