Excellent intergrown cuboctahedral crystals of Galena from the lead-zinc mining district of Alston Moor in eastern Cumbria. The Galena remains bright metallic, silvery-grey with one 3 x 3 x 2.5 cm major crystal at its apex. The Galena covers sucrosic, drusy cream Quartz over a matrix in sub-millimetre, creamy white Calcite rhombic crystals. A classic specimen from the area with two old labels, both giving the locality as Cumberland, the former and historical county name of what is now Cumbria. The relative modern labels are also included, one a Roughgems of Charterhouse street, London.
