This old-time European Cinnabar specimen is a real eye-catcher, full of character. Not only is it substantial in size - small cabinet - but it displays quite large (to 9 mm on edge) Cinnabar encrusted rhombic Calcite crystals within a 4 x 3 cm open cavity at one end of the specimen. A larger, 4 x 3 mm well formed Cinnabar crystal is perched upon one of the Calcite crystals within the cavity. Massive, red Cinnabar, permeates throughout the specimen, but in particular within the wide Calcite vein cutting through the specimen. Two old (19th century) handwritten German labels (one watermarked) accompany the specimen with their numbers linking to a typed number label affixed to it. A really characterful Cinnabar specimen from a European classic occurrence.
